Who needs search engine optimization?
Anyone and everyone who wishes to have clients and prospects find them on the web.
Today the web is the first place people look for products and services, more than the Yellow Pages, newspapers and magazines combined. So don’t you think it might be wise and more than a little important to spend some time making sure you can be found on the major search engines for your products and or services?
On this page and following pages you’re going to find tips and tricks
for search engine optimization that you can do for yourself, the only
thing it takes is a little time, effort and willingness to learn.
Or you can call us to help with any or all of the steps listed below!
Now first fact!
It’s not enough just to be found on the search engines you must be
found above your competition on the search engines. The higher the
better a lot of the search engine optimization companies will tell you
that being found on the first page is good enough! Well that’s really
not completely true. Position number 10 on the first page gets 3% of the traffic that the number one position gets! So you want to work
hard to get up above your competition even on the first page. The
position number five on the first page gets approximately 35% of the
traffic that the number one position gets. So do you get the point I
am trying to make?
Your website must be optimized in a fashion that will make
you will appear above your competition. Every time you go up one
position you significantly increase your chances of being found and
making a sale. And in today’s economy that’s the difference between being in business and being out of business, the difference between hiring an employee and firing an employee.
Today, Google has become the search engine of choice for the
majority of search engines users in today’s market. Some estimates put it as high as 85% in some demographics. That’s why some search engine optimization companies only concentrate on Google’s search engine results.
Fact Number Two
There are two different types search engine result categories.
Let’s cover the organic listings first. “Organic listings” are
sometimes called “natural results.”
Organic search results are achieved when your website ranks according to its merits, unique content and link popularity. These are the two most important attributes. Both unique content and link popularity can be enhanced by you with just a little bit of work, well sometimes a lot of work!
You can achieve top rankings on your own - without any ad or
placement payments. A #1 position for just one of your key
phrases could be worth tens of thousands of dollars of pay per click
payments savings to you every year!

Now let’s take a look at Pay Per Click (PPC)
Anyone and I mean absolutely anyone with enough money can get to the top of the Pay Per Click (PPC) for the major search engines. The real trick is to stay there without going broke. Back a year or two ago, a new car dealership could purchase a pay per click for $1.35 and today
it’s over $10.00 in most markets. Another example is the pay per click (PPC) for homeowners insurance today which is up to $27.00 in some markets for just one click. The biggest problem with pay per click is your competition can force your price through the roof making it unaffordable and unpredictable. It doesn’t matter which search engine you decide to use, for example Google AdWords or Yahoo Sponsored Search or Microsoft's ad Center [/link]. If your competitor outbids you their website will be placed on the first page of search results above yours and your only recourse is to up your bid or sit back and wait until they run out of money.
