What does the domino effect have to do with Search engine marketing
Well It goes something like this:
Under the right conditions you could start a domino effect that will help your site achieve search engine success.
After six or seven weeks of research and writing and rewriting you finally complete some of your best work ever. After a day or two you posted on your website and shortly after that you get one inbound link from a very popular site. The site ranks very well on both google and yahoo and by linking to you it gives you a small boost in your search engine page results.
To say the least you're very pleased and you feel like you've really accomplish something.
But in your excitement you failed to hear it. That little click that sound of the first domino falling against the next one.
This site that link to you is a premier site where a number of experts have read your article and write blog posts about you and your articles.
The second domino just fell, there goes the third and the fourth.
This popular site is read by others, and several regular readers of that site. Some of their readers again bookmark your site using one of the online bookmarking sites, leading other surfers to discover your site.
And on they go, one domino falling against the next.
One reader ads you're are aris feed to her feed reader. After a week or two she recommends one of your articles to a girlfriend who's doing some research for a post she wants to do on digg, which eventually leads to over 100 leads from that site, one of which is the hottest new journalist writing for the US times one of the largest newspapers in the country.
The dominoes are now falling so fast they sound like a hiss.
An article in that newspaper leads to several prominent scientists to comment publicly and include your articles as part of their research materials and here comes more leads from the science community.
This process may not end until you close down your site.
Then you wake up, you fell asleep again at your computer.
But that doesn't mean that it's not possible now does it.
Although this story is farfetched it's meant to demonstrate how RRS feeds can bring you extremely good returns just a little bit of effort.
