Organic Search (SEO)

To keep you ahead of the competition!

Organic CEO can bring "Free-ish" traffic but you can't be impatient. It takes a while for the search engines to do what they do. Consider the following process.

Your SEO staff (in-house or agency) will produce several recommendations in a 15 to 45 day period.

To build out and modify target webpages will take approximately 14 days. ( may take longer!)

On average it takes 30 to 60 days for the search engines to pick up your website changes.

When it's all said and done it will probably take 45 to 120 days before you see any search engine results.

This is where you have to make a decision with your search engine marketing. Do you take the quick fix, with a Pay Per Click (PPC) campaign? Or develop a long-term strategy like organic Search Engine Optimization (SEO), that will bring lower cost results? It's a lot like the children's story of the tortoise and the hair isn't it?

Keep in mind, in the story the tortoise wins. And just like the story your website marketing strategy should be looked on as a marathon not a sprint.

Here's some suggestions to help you with this challenge:
First, get things in order to start your SEO program. Keep in mind that you're not going to see an overnight transformation. However in the long term a well optimized website will deliver highly targeted and lower-cost traffic.

Remember how you ended up in this position. You didn't have a fully functional SEO strategy which made you heavily reliant on paid search and media to drive traffic to your site.

The ever increasing cost of Pay Per Click and media can negatively affect your bottom line.

Use analytical software to measure your current paid search metrics and see which words are driving your sales. Often it makes sense to increase your budget on certain keywords while you're organic SEO strategies kicks in.

Keep in mind what you're trying to do is strike a balance between your paid and natural search tactics to improve your overall bottom line.
